أعد هذا الكتاب بصورة خاصة للمهتمين بالأزهار وبفن التطريز، ولم يعد كدراسة علمية للنباتات والأزهار في فلسطين. وقد أخذ عنوان "طلع الرنجس والحنون" من المقولة الشعبية "طلع الرنجس والحنون/ضُب بذارك يا مجنون"، المتداولة بين الفلاحين في الريف الفلسطيني مع قدوم الربيع. أما الصور والنصوص المرفقة فهي إشارات عامة ومقتضبة تبين موضع هذه الأزهار وأهميتها في الطبيعة الفلسطينية وموقعها الملهم والمتميز في التراث الشعبي والأدبي والبيئي في فلسطين. وتوجد معظم الأزهار المذكورة في هذا الكتاب أيضاً في مناطق الأردن وسورية ولبنان ودول حوض البحر الأبيض المتوسط..
