يروي كتاب " البقرات العزيزات" أحداث قصّة حقيقية حصلت في بلدة محتلّة من قبل غريب متوحش
اشترى أهل القرية بقراتٍ حلوبات، وقاموا برعايتها، ليشرب الكبار والأطفال حليباً محلّياً، لا من إنتاج العدوّ المحتلّ. عندما عرف المحتلّ بأمر البقرات، خاف منها وقرّر أنها تهدّد كيانه، فأصدر قراراً بمصادرتها، وهَمَّ يبحث عنها في بيوت البلدة
صار أهل البلدة يضحكون من محتلّ خائف من بقرات، مصرّين على أن يقوموا هم بإنتاج مطعمهم ومشربهم وملبسهم. فخبؤوا البقرات لدى الجزّار الطيّب الذي رعاها واهتمَّ بها
تنتهي القصة بإقرار الحق تعزيزاً لنصرته ، و تأكيداً على أهمية الاستقلال الاقتصاديّ، ووجوب رفض العبوديّة الاستهلاكيّة

"The Dearest Cows" tells the true story of events that took place in a town occupied by a savage stranger.
The villagers bought dairy cows and took care of them, so that adults and children could drink local milk, not milk produced by the occupying enemy. When the occupier learned about the cows, he feared them and decided that they threatened his existence. He then issued a decree to confiscate them and set about searching for them in the village homes.
The villagers laughed at an occupier who was afraid of cows, insisting on producing their own food, drink, and clothing. So they hid the cows with the kind butcher, who cared for and looked after them.
The story concludes by affirming justice to reinforce its triumph, and by emphasizing the importance of economic independence and the necessity of rejecting consumerist servitude.
